I think it's better to buy big ticket items that are of quality if you can find them. Now even our cars are supposed to be small little dinky unsafe things thanks to Obama, so I don't really think anyone cares about quality or safety any longer.

I think I agree with you Bridgett. Since I really don’t care what appliances look like, when I get enough money to replace this dishwasher, I’m not going to worry about how it looks.

I think the real problem is that what is now considered top of the line is built nearly as well as it should be. Top of the line 25 years ago was truly a well built machine. Top of the line now (at least in appliances) seems to be “best of show” and not “best of build”. My brother is an appliance repairman and says that everything made today is junk. So sorry to hear about your dishwasher. I would REALLy hate to do without that one luxury!
